European: Barcelona, PSG and Dortmund good things as cup fever takes over

Cup fever sweeps throughout Europe this weekend and we’ve got the best best from three of the biggest, with Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund all involved.

Angers v Paris Saint-Germain

Big-spending Paris Saint-Germain may have seen their title dreams crushed by runaway winners Monaco, but they can at least get their hands on the French Cup this weekend.

Victory over the minnows would see the Parisians land the trophy for the third successive season and the odds suggest that’s a foregone conclusion – as do the statistics.

PSG have scored nine goals against their Saturday opponents in three games, while conceding just once, so back them to win with a -2 European handicap at 2.24.

Barcelona v Alaves

Like PSG, Barcelona came up short in the battle for the league title in Spain, with arch rivals Real Madrid storming away to become champions under Zinedine Zidane.

It was a campaign that also saw them dumped out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage, and ultimately cost manager Luis Enrique his job.

Alaves go into the game buoyed by their victory against the Catalan side at the Nou Camp back in September, however they were smashed 6-1 on their return. Back 4-0 Barca at 8.56.

Eintracht Frankfurt v Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund booked their final spot with a stunning win against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena, with Marco Reus, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele netting.

It means Dortmund now have the chance to win their first DFB Pokal since 2012, and they will fancy their chances of getting the better of Eintracht Frankfurt.

Their head-to-heads in the league this season have seen each side win their home leg, but both teams have scored in both clashes, so back both teams to score and over 2.5 goals at 2.09.
