Nice v Angers
Angers travel to Nice for their Ligue 1 fixture on Friday, with both these teams having experienced solid starts to the campaign.
But they will surely be put to the test when they face each other with Nice, in particular, bouncing back from a dreadful couple of opening games, in which they went from unexpected defeats to notching up three victories in a row.
Nice began the campaign with a loss at St Etienne, before being on the receiving end of a league new boys Troyes defeat. However, they have since gone on to beat Guingamp, champions Monaco and Rennes to climb as high as 8th in the league.
It has been a sluggish recuperation by Nice, who were left downtrodden after being beaten across two legs against Serie A side Napoli in their Champions League qualification tie. That meant Nice were entered into the Europa League, where they have started life in the tournament well, thrashing Zulte-Waregem 5-1 in their first outing.
But whether they can prolong this run is yet to be seen.
Angers meanwhile have won just a single game so far, but they have also managed to produce four draws, which leaves them in 11th position after six fixtures. Their fans would likely be content with a mid-table finish, for they know their squad cannot hold up against the likes of Nice & co. all season.
For this reason, I’m backing the home side at 1.89 with Sportsbet.io
