Broncos land Young from Rams
The Denver Broncos get a huge boost in their roster by landing Kenny Young in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams. Denver is keen to get a talent who could help them in the linebacker spot. This is a great look for the Broncos’ chances to get back in their groove for the 2022 run.
As the Broncos’ injury woes continue, the team opted to make a move and add some aid by trading for Young. The LB is the best option they can find who would suit their fast-paced system in the 2021-22 season which is a good move that they can be pleased with.
Adding Young means that the Broncos can keep a bigger pace going in their next games. Young is one of the best linebackers who can serve as a reliable passer as well. This is the second time that the LB has been traded in the middle of the season. The Rams got him from a trade in 2019 with the Baltimore Ravens.
Denver has a need at the position with a total of eight LBs injured for the 2021-22 season. Six are currently on the injured reserve and it is one of the key factors that played a huge role in their collapse in the run.
The teams swapped late round picks and LA is set to get a sixth-rounder while the Broncos nets a seven-rounder along with Young. Both picks are good for the 2024 season. Young started all of the seven games for the Rams this season.
Young tallied a total of 46 tackles with six for loss. The LB also has two sacks and one pass defended to go with one forced fumble. The trade paves the way for more playing time for third round rookie LB Ernest Jones in LA, who has seen just 45 snaps on defence for the 2021-22 season.
The Broncos hope that they can get a big boost in their games by adding Young. They need to get a big break in the season if they want to get back to their pace and earn a playoff spot once more.
