Titans shock the NFL with 27-3 win against Chiefs
The Tennessee Titans pulled off a huge stunner with a 27-3 rout over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs lost Patrick Mahomes with an injury late in the fourth and did not return for the rest of the game. That led to a huge blowout win by the Titans to show their grit.
Mahomes had a rough game and it ended poorly for the Chiefs as well. The star QB was knocked out in the fourth and did not return to the game. Coach Andy Reid played it safe and shut the star down when the game was far from their reach.
This loss to the Titans is the worst for the Mahomes era. That 27-point lead at the half was the biggest deficit they ever faced in the last three years. The main concern was the MVP’s health, but he soon spoke to the media and said he was good to go in their next game.
‘I feel fine now’, the Chiefs MVP said. ‘Y'all saw the hit. I took my time getting up, but I felt fine. I did everything I needed to do to be here’.
The former MVP was slow to get up and had to walk off the field. He talked to Reid before he moved to the bench and that was the game for Mahomes. This game is the worst that the star had in his career. He did not throw a touchdown for the first time and made 20 of his 35 passes for 205 yards.
On top of that, Mahomes was also sacked four times and did not even lead a touchdown drive for the second time in his career. The last time he was sacked the same was back in the Super Bowl LV.
In seven games, the Chiefs fell under .500 for the third time in the 2021-22 season with a 3-4 record and matched their most losses in any season with Mahomes. This is a huge blow to the Chiefs and should send them into panic if they are going for a title run in February 2022.
