Odor leads Yankees in 9-1 win over Red Sox
The New York Yankees had to come back strong from a lot of doubts as the team needed some time to work on their roster. Rougned Odor did not back down and led the way for the Yanks to beat the division leaders Boston Red Sox in a 9-1 rout.
With a lot of players on the injured list for the Yankees, the club had to double back and try to find some ways to win through what’s left on their roster. They could have been easily routed by the Red Sox, but they did not give up.
Odor and Gleyber Torres nailed homers to push the team to their third win in a row. The fans at the Yankee Stadium were roaring as the team beat the Red Sox on a much stronger note. Odor was pleased with the win and proved why he can be a key player.
‘I’ve been feeling pretty good at the plate, just trying to help my team when they give me the opportunity to play the game’, Odor said. ‘Our team is feeling really good, too’.
The Yanks bounced back from being blanked in the series opener as they outlasted Boston in a shortened match. The Yankees were in control from start to finish and have gone 7-3 in their last 10 games.
For Yankees coach Aaron Boone, it was all more about chasing more wins as a squad at this point.
‘It’s been a hard week’, Boone said. ‘I’m just really pleased with the level of focus and energy that the guys have come in with, each and every day. It’s definitely a good win to get over a team that we’re chasing’.
Odor continues to shine on the big stage, and there is no doubt he can step up when the team needs him to do so. This is an opportunity that he cannot waste as he hopes to prove his worth as a future star for the team.
With the likes of Aaron Judge, Gio Urshela, and more others on the injured list, the Yankees will have to hold on to what they have if they want to win.
