NBA teams that have a shot at the 2021-22 league title

The NBA has been riding on a roller coaster for the past few years with no consistent champion and contenders. The league has seen at least six different teams who have tried for the league title, and fans are keen to see more from other teams who are making noise right now.

The 2021-22 season is a different one compared to the past few runs. There is a huge power shift in their games and fans are also seeing a new low between some of the best and worst teams in the league. That is a lot of storylines in the league which proves that nothing has been the same ever since.

For starters, the Milwaukee Bucks have been struggling to get the best wins to start the season. They may have found a short groove but it is not yet enough to say that they are back in their winning ways.

Since then, there are teams who took advantage of the Bucks’ slow start to steal the show and win a lot of games in the first half of the season. Fans can hope for more intense games as teams try to fight their way to the top and secure a good spot in the playoffs

Here are the top teams who have a chance at winning the NBA title in the 2021-22 season:

Golden State Warriors

There is so much to say about the Warriors after starting the season with the best record yet. The team has gone from being a dynasty from 2015 to 2019 before they fell to the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals. The team has missed the playoffs twice and now they look like their former selves.

Having the core of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson sounds like a nightmare to the rest of the league. They are the same core that plagued the league for four years in a row, and having Andre Iguodala back into the mix is also an added fuel to the fire.

Curry is on a roll of his own, dropping MVP numbers as of late. Green is also back to his usual gritty self with those flashy plays and strong defence for the Warriors. Klay’s pending return is just a reminder that the Dubs are not at 100% just yet, so fans can expect a much scarier squad as soon as they are complete.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers are starting to come to their senses after a hazy start to the season. There were a lot of issues on both ends of the floor and some even said that this was the same team that had five stars but ended like a bust. When LeBron James came back from his injuries, the LA squad was soon back to their elite form.

With Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, and Carmelo Anthony clicking well, James has a bigger task at hand: win games. They are cruising well after those struggles and it is safe to say that James is the glue that holds the team together.

The Lakers have a lot to prove this season after losing to the Phoenix Suns in the 2020 Playoffs. They have to show the rest of the league that adding both Russ and Melo was the right call instead of going for the young talents.

Washington Wizards

The Wizards were not even much of a playoff team in the 2020-21 season when they got taken out of the first round. Westbrook was there to lead the way for them when Bradley Beal got injured. The team soon went for a revamp and traded Russ away to focus on Beal. They got a crop of fair talents that soon turned out for the best.

The Wizards took in Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harell, and Spencer Dinwiddie. It may seem like a bust at first, but the team stormed into the top of the East when no one expected them to do so. Experts were quick to say that DC was just another lowly tanking team in the East, but now they are leading the way in a tight conference.

The no-star show is working well for the Wizards so far. Beal is a star player but his game has taken a step back to allow his teammates to step up. The so-called rejects from the Lakers (Kuzma and Harell) and the Brooklyn Nets (Dinwiddie) have all turned out for the best as the Wizards cruise all the way in the Eastern Conference.

Phoenix Suns

The Suns continue to show the rest of the league what Chris Paul is all about. The Point God worked hard to prove that he can lead any team to success, which was seen in his run to the NBA Finals for the first time in 2021.

Paul’s antics made the rest of the team better, and they want to get back to the Finals. That says a lot about their hopes this season as they roll under the shadow of the Warriors. They are winning a lot of games and that works well to keep them within the top spots of the tough Western Conference.

As the 2021-22 season continues, the league will be going in for more intense battles. There are a lot of rivalries in the NBA and most of those would turn out to be the most-watched games in the season.

As the second half of the season nears, there are a lot of expectations from each team, and they will do whatever it takes to earn a shot at the playoffs and the NBA title sooner or later.
