Suns hope to bounce back in Game 6
The Phoenix Suns have their backs against the wall for the first time in the NBA Playoffs. This isn’t new to coach Monty Williams, who has seen a lot of these big twists in the game. He knows that there is a lot at stake in their next set of games if they want to win a league title.
For the first time in this year’s playoffs, the Suns have dropped three games in a row. Now they are one loss away from going home with no title won as well. This means that they have to double back and make sure they get back on their games.
The Suns led by as many as 16 points, but then they lost that lead and choked it to the Milwaukee Bucks. The team then went down by 14 points but failed to close out their run when Devin Booker’s last shot was swiped by Jrue Holiday and turned into a quick score.
Coach Williams said that it is tough for them to lose this one, but nothing would be more vital than a Game 6 win. The Suns need that to make sure they keep their hopes alive as well. This is why they need to give it their all in Game 6 on the road - where the Bucks have been a great team.
‘We got to win one game to put them back on the plane’, the coach said. ‘That's it. And you have to have that determination that you're willing to do whatever it takes to put them back on the plane’.
Booker scored 40 points in this loss after a 42-point game in their loss at Milwaukee. He is the first player to come up with that stat line in the Finals only to lose both games. It was a tough night to be a Suns fan.
A total of 17 turnovers and 17 offensive boards allowed proved to be a huge factor in the loss. The Suns were sloppy, and it cost them a crucial game at home. Chris Paul had 21 points and 11 dimes but knew it was not enough for them to win it.
‘We knew this wasn't going to be easy’, said Paul. ‘We didn't expect it to be. It's hard. Coach said it all year long: Everything we want is on the other side of hard, and it don't get no harder than this. So, we got to regroup, learn from this game. But it's over. We got to get ready for Game 6’.
The Suns are in dire need of a push. They have what it takes to win, but now they need to push for a Game 7 and take a win on the road. This is going to be one of their big games in the history of the team at this point.
