Timma signs new deal with UNICS

Janis Timma has moved to his next team in the EuroLeague by signing a new deal with the UNICS Kazan in the 2021-22 season. This means a bigger run for the star forward as he looks to revamp his career and earn a chance at the playoffs.

UNICS are in a great need of a filler in the forward spot, and adding Janis to the squad gives them an edge over most teams. He is one of the best players in that spot, and he has a knack for drilling the big shots in clutch moments.

On top of that, the EuroLeague side can rely on Janis’ defence when it comes to steals and forcing a lot of turnovers. Janis is one of the best defenders in the league, which makes him a valuable addition to UNICS’ run in the 2021-22 season.

UNICS has the option to extend their deal with him all the way to the end of the season. Janis spent two and a half years with Khimki Moscow and has established a big name for his game so far. This says a lot about what he can offer to the club as he hopes to make an impact on attack and defence.

In the 2020-21 season, Timma had 7.1 points, 2.8 boards and a steal per game. He played 25 minutes per game and his shooting wonders will fit in well with UNICS’ rotation in the forward spot.

UNICS sits at the 10th spot in the league with a 4-5 record. The Russian club needs the boost they can get to beat other teams in the EuroLeague as they have no problems in leading the way in the VTB League with a 6-1 record.

Timma has been hoping for a bigger chance in his game over the years. While he is a reliable shooter from deep, fans can expect him to play a bigger role in UNICS’ offence. The star is one of the best players to come in for the team, and this means a lot for the club’s hopes of making it to the playoffs soon since they have a drought ever since joining the league.
