Why a Lakers-Nets Finals should thrill the NBA

As the 2021-22 season closes in, it is easy to expect that fans have their picks to win the league title. There were many busy teams in the summer, and both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets have made big upgrades to boost their squads for a huge title run.

While the 2021 Finals showed neither of the two teams, fans hope to see their loaded rosters come back into the playoffs with a stronger push as they aim to win a shot at the title. There were many tweaks for both teams, and so far, it has been a very busy summer as well.

For starters, LA has made big moves by putting a lot of star players around LeBron James and Anthony Davis. This has made them the best of the West on paper, and it looks like they can contend against some of the powerhouses in the said conference.

LA made it to the playoffs but were taken out by Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns in the first round, which was the first for James. That has sparked a lot of hope and motivation for LA.

The Nets have the same flow - but they came in late. The team added stars such as Paul Millsap and LaMarcus Aldridge and revamped their roster in the best way they can. The Nets have also secured their stars for a few more years, thus making them the beast of the East - even if they are yet to prove that point.

The team had a shot at the East Finals led by Kevin Durant and could have found its way to the NBA Finals in the 2021 run. Instead, the team fell short in Game 7 against the Milwaukee Bucks and could not hold on for a crucial win instead.

LA has a huge cast that has seen a lot of years in the league. The Nets, on the other hand, have a roster that can match LA on a toe to toe basis. There are fans who hope to see them play more than once in the NBA Finals.

Still, the 2021-22 season is a huge run that both teams will never want to miss. This is a chance at the title that the teams will want to try and win against their respective conference champions. Any fan would want to see both sides square off in the Finals. Who knows, they might even set the bar for the most views in the history of the NBA.

This is a matchup that would shake the NBA. Aside from the two best players in the world in James and Durant, both also have the star power in line to take over the rest of the league in the years to come. That should come in handy for both sides soon if both teams would stay as league contenders too.
