Why Giannis’ winning block is a hint for a huge finish
Giannis Antetokounmpo came up big in Game 4 of the NBA Finals as he led the Milwaukee Bucks to a 109-103 win. A lot of fans say that the star’s game-ending block is pointing at a much bigger moment that could happen sooner or later in the series.
With one minute to play, the Bucks were on the defensive end trying to cling to their 101-99 lead. The team saw Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker come up with a lob pass to a cutting Deandre Ayton in the left wing.
For a moment there, most fans thought it was going to tie the game and could soon lead into an extra period. Ayton was close and the Bucks had no guy on the Suns’ big man who owned the glass for most of the game.
Giannis came out of nowhere and tried to contest the shot. The Greek Freak denied the big man and blocked out the shot. That led to a wild sequence and soon after, the Bucks tied the series.
Once more, Giannis has proved his worth as an MVP. He showed the league that he can step up and lead the way for his team to win. That kind of play showed why he is a threat on both ends of the floor.
Fans were shocked and shouted at the play. No one ever saw it coming. It was the second time that Giannis has blocked a player and has sent off the same vibes as LeBron James’ historic block in 2016.
LeBron was back on the far right side of the court when he saw Kyrie Irving’s shot miss. This led to an open break for the Golden State Warriors to take the lead. It has been three minutes and Game 7 of the 2016 Finals was tied at 89.
James went for a full sprint and chased down Andre Iguodala’s shot to save the Cleveland Cavaliers. The team won their first title in 52 years.
Giannis’s block on Ayton had the same vibes. He even had the same block on Mikal Bridges earlier in the series. Those are just hinting at a possible big finish in this year’s NBA Finals. With the series now set to go for a Game 6, who knows, they might go for a Game 7.
The games between the Bucks and Suns have been intense so far, and fans are loving every bit of it. For one, it looks like the Suns are keen to win their first title, and the Bucks are here to do the same. It is going to be a tight battle sooner or later, and fans can expect Giannis to step up.
