Why Klay’s return makes the Warriors more lethal

As the Golden State Warriors close in on a bigger push in the 2021-22 season, the best is still yet to come for the team at this point. Klay Thompson is on his way to make a huge return to the lineup for the Warriors, and that just makes them more dangerous to play against.

As the Warriors try to make a lot of noise in the season, Klay’s return for full contact games means that there is going to be a big change in their games. With the team making a lot of progress, Klay’s return is a huge threat to the whole league.

As far as recoveries go, Klay has been cleared to play five on five games, which only proves that he is close to full health. They are gearing up for a deeper run in the NBA Playoffs after falling short in the 2020 run.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr believes that there is more to expect from Thompson’s games as he slowly gets back into full form.

‘A two-year absence requires a lot of work’, the Warriors head coach said. ‘Not just a rehab, but the endurance, the strength, so it's great that he's playing 5-on-5 but it doesn't mean he's going to be ready to step on an NBA floor next week or something, but he's progressing really well’.

The Warriors are hopeful that Klay would return at some point in December. That timetable is getting closer to reality as Klay speeds up his rehab process.

Thompson tore his ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals and then an Achilles in November 2020. Klay has been working out inside the Warriors’ gym for months and his presence lifted them at this point. Even co-star Draymond Green says he is waiting for his return.

‘We know what he brings to the table. We're not expecting him to be Klay Thompson of 2018 right away, but he's worked his ass off’, Green said. ‘He's worked his ass off for this moment, and I'm looking forward to getting him back out there’.

Co-Splash Brother Stephen Curry did not say much about Klay’s possible return. He did see him work out and said the star looks better than ever, but he also expects to set the league on fire as soon as they get back to their normal pace.

Right now, the Warriors own the league, and they are showing the NBA why they are the best team in the world. When Klay returns, everyone would surely have flashbacks of his threes that killed every team in the league.

Klay is a vital star for the Warriors, and his return to the lineup might even guarantee them a shot at the league title.
