Why the Warriors is still a contender
The Golden State Warriors are up for a big run in the 2021-22 season with the team back on their feet. All of their stars are good to go and this should give them a spark to go for a playoff run and restore their former status as an elite team in the NBA.
The Warriors are ready to roll in their games for the season. The team aims to field their star trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green who have been the core of the team and they are eager to show off once more.
Golden State is one of the best teams in the league known for their skills in shooting threes led by the duo of Steph and Klay, also known as the Splash Brothers. They have set a lot of records and have also won titles in the past decade. They have been in the NBA Finals from 2015 to 2019, winning three titles in that span.
A lot has changed in the team’s roster. Kevin Durant, who led them to win two titles, is already with the Brooklyn Nets. 2015 Finals MVP Andre Iguodala is also back with the team, hinting at the return of the original roster.
While all of these signs point North in their hopes to get back in the playoffs, the age factor comes into play for all of these stars. They are all in their thirties and might have slowed down in their games along with a lot of injuries that plagued the team in the 2019 run.
Steph should still be a threat from deep. As one of the best players in the league, Curry has lifted the Warriors to the Play-in but lost to the Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies. He is still a great star that can carry the team with a much lighter load since his co-stars are back.
Klay should also be a threat once more. While he did not play any games in two years, his practice sessions show that he can still shoot well from three. That should give the team a spark of hope in his return for the 2021-22 season.
Green would be pleased to play since his two star teammates are ready to roll. He is the main playmaker for the team, and that means a lot for the Warriors’ success in the coming months. That should make them a threat in the league once more with Green leading the way.
If the Warriors play better, the squad can contend and bring back their glory days. They have proven their success with their 73-9 record in 2016, and they have a chance to do that again if they thrive in the 2021-22 season.
