Ever since he made his debut in 2020, Henry Crocombe has been awesome for Sussex. Now, he has committed his long-term future with the club. Henry has signed a new contract that will keep him with the club until at least the end of the 2024 season.
At just 20 years of age, Henry has shown that he has the potential to become a star player. For Sussex, he is a loyal player since he is in the system for about eight years now. He is one of the 14 homegrown players in the county’s pro squad.
Henry himself is happy to announce that he was glad that he could re-sign with the club on a long-term deal. He said, ‘When this new contract was offered to me, not only was I really pleased and excited, I was also really pleased that Sussex has shown their faith, belief and confidence in me to be able to continue and improve my all-round game’.
Henry is not the only person who is happy with the new deal but also most of the people within the Sussex system. It is fun to see how such a young player is securing deals for themselves.
Sussex’s ODI head coach Ian Salisbury thought that it was great news for the club. He knows that Henry has been in the system for a long while now and he has torn up every team that he’s played for.
Even T20 head coach James Kirtley is happy with Henry’s new deal. He said, ‘I am delighted to see that Henry has agreed an extension to his contract. Henry was in a small number of players that were available for selection for every game in 2021, which is an outstanding achievement for a pace bowler. His bowling goes from strength-to-strength and it was great to see him finishing the season strong’.
Henry will soon become the biggest star on the Sussex squad. He is one of the most promising players not only in the Sussex system because he is also primed for a spot on the national system. It will be fun to what can happen with Henry’s future since he is such a promising pro player in the Sussex system.
