Mills talks about his love for cricket
At the age of 28, Tymal Mills knows how the cricket world has loved him. He has been one of the best stars to ever step into the game and is known for his big games in T20 cricket. Mills explains how much he wants to get back into action for the Three Lions soon.
It has been six years since the star has played List A cricket. As one of the best bowlers back then, Mills has tallied 55 games in two formats before his move to T20 cricket. He rose to the top of the game and was even hailed as one of the best stars to help the Three Lions in their runs.
At the young age of 22, Mills took a huge hit in his narrow spinal cord and was injured due to long bowling spells. That is when he took note of the 14-15 overs in a day and how it would never help him get back to his form.
The star moved to the 20-overs format. In 2016, Mills wore the national jersey for the first time and played in a T20I at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. The southpaw could not get a wicket when he played three more T20Is for the Three Lions in their India tour back in 2017.
Since then, Mills never played for the Three Lions again but still dreams of getting his shot again. In over 130 T20 games, Mills has taken up 142 wickets with a rate of 7.83. That is a huge feat for a star whose career has been riddled with injuries in the past few years.
Mills could have been easily one of England’s best icons if it wasn’t only for injuries. It is tough to see a great player like him fall down. Mills could have done so much more in his career, but now it is all just a dream for him.
There are a lot of players out there who stopped their careers as they went on to give up. It was never the same case for Mills as he continued fighting despite his recovery process. His injury wasn’t an excuse for him to surrender his dreams and plans for the future.
If the southpaw would get back to the national team, he might have a chance to bring the best of his game once more. Who knows, one day he will make his return and prove that he deserves to be at the top of England’s games.
Mills has a lot of fire in him, and it sure does help him a lot to get back into the game. He is far from letting go of his big dream in cricket which shows his great determination to continue his career.
