Natus Vincere hits the reset button again with their roster
Natus Vincere’s Dota 2 roster has hit the reset button again. Vladimir ‘RodjER’ Nikogosian and Roman ‘RAMZES666’ Kushnarev decided to leave the squad for greener pastures. This comes after a disappointing ending to their 2021 Dota Pro Circuit run as they failed to make it far.
This was inevitable for Na’Vi since they had a poor showing in the qualifiers for The International 10. They listed the entire roster inactive on the 23rd of July but it looks like two of the five players and their longtime coach have decided to move on. RodjER and RAMZES666 will most likely team up again while the coach Andrii ‘Mag’ Chipenko’s decisions are unknown.
Na’Vi’s roster has been in constant flux for about two years now with constant changes to the roster. This started during the Akbar ‘SoNNeikO’ Butaev saga in late 2019 when he was questionably benched and then released from his contract. He later returned to the team but he quickly left after just a few months.
At the moment, there are only two players on the team with Vladimir ‘No[o]ne’ Minenko and Alik ‘V-Tune’ Vorobey. It will be hard to build around these two players since they are talented but Na’Vi’s reputation has taken a hit over the past two years.
Na’Vi has always been known as the premier organization from the CIS region. Ever since they released longtime star Danil ‘Dendi’ Ishutin, it has gone downhill for the squad. It is sad to see given the significance that Na’Vi holds in the Dota 2 esports scene.
Team COO Aleksey ‘xaoc’ Kucherov talked about their plans for Na’Vi’s future. He said, ‘We are considering various options for the future of Na’Vi in the discipline while forming a new roster. Our paths with Mag, RodjER, and RAMZES666 diverge from now on. We are grateful to the guys for their performance in Na’Vi and wish them the best of luck in their future teams’.
It will be fun to look forward to what Na’Vi has planned given that No[o]ne is a good building block but they need players who can play well around him rather than signing stars who do not fit with the team’s centrepiece.
