Ellis wants to win the Stanley Cup
Ryan Ellis has now moved on from the shock of being traded to the Philadelphia Flyers and is now keen to help them win the Stanley Cup. The former Nashville Predators star hopes to bring the best of his game in the next season.
Ellis was first shocked by the sudden trade. He did not see it coming and never expected it to happen. He was one of the Preds’ best stars and he proved to be a key player in their big series with the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Preds are now past that move and are keen to bring in a new star to replace him. Ellis now has the same mentality and hopes he can be of help to his new squad. He has shifted his mindset and now wants to focus on the big prize.
‘First time going through it, so a bit of a shock to the system to me and my family’, Ellis said. ‘But looking forward from here and we're excited to get there, get settled and start a chase for the Cup’.
He has spoken to some of his new teammates and helped him grow a new level of comfort after playing 10 seasons with the Preds. It has been a while since he saw a set of new faces in a decade, but now he is ready to roll with them.
Ellis also said that he wants to get settled and then go into the ice and make sure that he leaves his best there in every single game he plays. Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher said that Ellis is a great star for their roster.
‘Ryan is an excellent all-around defenseman’, said the GM. ‘In our opinion, he's one of the best passers in the game on the blue line’.
Philly allowed 3.52 goals per game in 2021, and one of the big reasons why it happened is because of the lack of defence pairs. Ellis will surely play a huge role for the team and team up with Ivan Provorov on the spot. Ellis has a chance to prove why the Flyers were never wrong with him.
