Awoniyi hype continues in Union’s draw

Union Berlin may have found a gem in Taiwo Awoniyi’s success with the club. The star has scored his seventh goal for the Iron Ones as he led them to salvage a draw with Stuttgart at Matchday 9. Taiwo has been the biggest win they had for the 2021-22 season so far.

While Union keeps its strong push in the top standings, the Nigerian star continues to shine for the Iron Ones. Taiwo’s games have been the best for the team so far and he is the biggest hope they have right now to make sure they get a chance in the Europa League or the Champions League if possible.

The Super Eagles striker continues to leave his mark on the goal with a tying shot that saved Berlin’s game against Stuttgart for a 1-1 draw. That is his seventh strike this season and it shows a lot of promise in his games in the Bundesliga.

In nine games, Taiwo has matched his best tally in a league season where he nailed seven for Royal Excel Mouscron in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 runs. The only difference is that he has more games to play for the Iron Ones in the 2021-22 season, which is a good note for him.

The former Liverpool striker also scored Union’s only goal in their 3-1 loss to Feyenoord in the Europa League. His latest strike gives him a goal in each of his last five games for the Iron Ones in all contests.

Taiwo has also focused his plays for the German Cup in their game against Waldhof Mannheim. Their success in the Bundesliga has given them a lot of spare time to worry about other games at this point. The club has earned 16 points in nine games and is in the fifth spot on the league table.

The Super Eagles star has been on fire since getting the deal inked last July. He has a tally of 11 goals in all contests and has played in a total of 14 games for the Iron Ones in the 2021-22 season.

The future is bright for Taiwo at this point, and his games are proof that the Iron Ones need to see that he gives his best.
