Carson happy to work with Guardiola
Manchester City has agreed to ink a deal with Scott Carson for one year and he is back for more after two years of action with the club. Scott is keen to prove that he thrives with the champs and that he is still a lethal keeper.
At the age of 35, Carson has spent the last two seasons on loan with the team. He signed a deal that would see him play for one more run. The keeper hopes to help out on a title push for City, and he will get that opportunity as he aims to stay for more years to come as well.
Carson joins the team as a free agent after his deal with Derby County has expired. The veteran keeper has taken up one game to his name since first playing for them in 2019 where he proved his worth as a key shot stopper in Newcastle. He was a good backup for both Ederson and Zack Steffen.
The keeper is glad to stay with the team and be a part of a winning club. Carson believes that the opportunity City gave him should not be wasted at this point in his career. Carson thinks that playing for Guardiola is a huge honour for him and a strong factor in his success.
‘To be around Pep Guardiola and his backroom staff is fantastic and I feel I have learnt so much since I joined in 2019’, the keeper said.
Carson said that to stay with the team was such an easy call for him. He wanted to keep on pushing the other keepers and make sure his stay has an impact on them and the rest of the club.
The keeper has proved that he can be a driving force behind City’s key stars on the goal. This is why he is vital to the team’s success and that alone makes him a good player to keep for Pep Guardiola’s squad.
Carson can shine one more time with City, and he is keen to make the most of it to win one more title.
