Diogo Dalot keen to push Aaron Wan-Bissaka for starting spot
Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot is desperate to dislodge Aaron Wan-Bissaka as the club’s first-choice right-back.
Dalot made his first start of the season last night in United’s 1-0 Europa League win over Astana at Old Trafford.
The teenager made 23 appearances in his first season for Manchester United, but opportunities during this campaign have been limited by the summer arrival of Wan-Bissaka.
Dalot said after the match: “It was our goal to start winning, it's important for us.
“I think we did an OK performance with a lot of kids, a lot of energy and it was very good to get my first minutes of the season.
“It was a tough pre-season, very hard. Unfortunately I got injured but now I am back fit and hopefully I can do a lot this season.
“I like the competition, I like to keep pushing hard and I think I'll be ready,” he added.
