Eintracht Routs Werder in Clean Sheet Win
Stefan Ilsanker’s brace for Eintracht Frankfurt ensures their strong win over the Werder Bremen as the club eyes to enter the top 10 race in the Bundesliga table. They have claimed their 10th win of the season and are hoping to finish strong in the last games left this year for them.
Andre Silva has been on fire in the last four games for Eintracht, finding the net three times in those matches. The team has made a big leap towards safety as they chipped away in their showdown with Bremen. Silva was the main catalyst for the team’s win, but substitute Ilsanker proved that he can also step in the game’s biggest moments.
The win puts Eintracht just a point above Koln and two points behind Schalke for the 10th spot in the Bundesliga table. It has been a fine year for Eintracht, who began the season with a great show of power as they beat contender clubs early in the campaign.
They are standing with a 10-5-14 record, and that is still a good thing considering the number of matches left for the team. The club could still reach the sixth spot at most, assuming they will continue to win in their last five matches of the season.
That also means that the five clubs above them must continue to lose their games. It has been a wild race from the sixth to the tenth spot in the table, so it would be easy for Eintracht to come in the standings.
The battle saw a scoreless affair in the first half, but Silva finally drained one goal in the 61st minute, where the club finally found its footing. They kept attacking and have defended well on the other side, surviving those three shots on target for Werder.
Ilsanker was subbed in the game in the 81st minute for Sebastian Rode, who was having a fair game. Ilsanker quickly scored in the same minute when Bas Dost found him cutting into the perfect spot for a lay-in.
He later added another one in the 90th minute to cap off his strong performance in just nine minutes to claim the big win for his club.
