Galatasaray reaches an agreement with winger Rachid Ghezzal
Ever since he was signed to Leicester City back in 2018, Rachid Ghezzal has struggled to breach the first team. This has led to loan spells and now he has a deal with Galatasaray after agreeing on personal terms. Gala managed to beat rival club Beşiktaş for his signature.
Rachid was a solid winger during his time in France playing in Ligue 1. He was a part of the Lyon system for most of his life playing in the youth academy and then he moved to Lyon’s B team and its main squad. He had a solid year-long stint with Monaco right after which led to him getting recruited by the Foxes in 2018.
He had a short stint with the team but he only managed to play 19 games before he was loaned out two times. The first team he was loaned to was Serie A side Fiorentina which was a decent team for him. The second loan stint was very productive because Rachid played well at Beşiktaş and scored eight goals in 31 games.
Since he showcased that he can work well in the Süper Lig, Rachid’s move to Gala should be expected. They gave him more money than Beşiktaş and he also has a bigger chance of playing and starring for this team compared to the Black Eagles.
Gala president Burak Elmas has already addressed the move in a presser. Burak said, ‘We met with Ghezzal, we’ll continue to meet with any player we want. Our coach desires that player, the cost is suitable for Galatasaray, the character of the player is suitable for Galatasaray’.
It looks like Rachid has found a new home in Gala since the front office and his coaches love him. He is being hyped as one of the stars of the team. He has not received that distinction in his career and this is a new role for him. However, he’s ready to face the task since he has shown a hunger to succeed before but it didn’t produce results.
Rachid is a great player who will get more time to shine with Gala compared to his previous years on the Foxes’ bench.
