How Nagelsmann continues his success with Bayern

Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann is one of the best coaches to ever lead a club in the Bundesliga. His current run with Bayern only proves that he is on the way to a bigger feat in his coaching career as the club searches for its 10th title in a row.

The Bavarians’ 2021-22 season has been good under Julian's lead, so far. He came into the club as a coach who was not afraid to make tweaks in his style and squad to ensure success. At the age of 34, Julian has been bright as day when it comes to his tactics.

Bayern started strong in the season. They are looking good so far and started well in the first nine games of the season, going 7-1-1 in that span. The former Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig coach brought his success but doubled that at this point.

The biggest show for the team was on Matchday 8. The champs crushed Bayer Leverkusen with five goals in the first 37 minutes of action. For the coach, it was all about giving statements in big games.

Bayern is doing well on that note. They had more points on the board at the same stage of the past run. Having 29 goals after eight matches is a huge feat for the attack unit. At the same time, they also only allowed eight goals in that span.

The same can be said for other competitions as well. Bayern won the DFL Supercup with a 3-1 win against Borussia Dortmund last August. In the Champions League, the club hammered Barca (3-0) and Dynamo Kyiv (5-0). Perhaps the biggest win they had was a 12-0 sweep in the DFB Cup against Bremer SV. All of these proved how Bayern has been relentless under Julian.

As opposed to many critics, Julian still favoured his backline with three players. However, it did not take long for him to change that with a 4-2-3-1 formation that worked well for former Bayern coach Hansi Flick in the past two runs. To see it work well for the current squad means that there is a bright future for the team which is what club legend Lothar Matthaus says.

‘Julian Nagelsmann was clever enough not to want to turn everything upside down at Bayern’, the former Bayern star said. ‘It's not necessary at all, but some coaches like to do that at the start to set an example. Not so with Julian. He looked at everything calmly, and only made a couple of small changes’.

The bulk of the Bayern squad won a lot of titles over the years, and they are ready to bring the thunder in their coming games. This is the big change that Julian has brought to Bayern.
