La Liga Transfer News

The transfer window only has a few days left before it closes. Despite this, rumours continue to mount. Regardless, it can only end in one of two ways: either negotiations push through or the player will continue to spend the next few months with his current club.

With that, here’s what the respective clubs need before the window closes completely:

Real Madrid

The club’s manager, Zidane, has scrapped the idea of a striker arriving at the club. ‘No, absolutely not’. In hindsight, it was the one thing that Real Madrid would have needed to bolster their club. Reinier will play with Castilla. Marc Gual signed with Real Madrid Castilla. Odriozola left for Bayern Munich to hone his skills for the future. Brahim and Mariano are resisting to move away.

Barcelona

As opposed to Real Madrid, Barca is continuing to find a viable striker to replace Luis Suarez despite the short time they have left. Valencia’s Rodrigo seems to be going nowhere and the club has given up on him. Why? Well, to no one’s surprise, Valencia was asking for a hefty amount, hence Barcelona looking elsewhere. Before the window closes, Setien aims to find a number nine to make up for their degrading performance. They’ve lost players such as Todibo to Schalke, Carles Pérez to Roma, and Carles Aleñá to Real Betis.

Sevilla

After not living up to expectations set, Monchi bid farewell to Dabbur and Chicharito. En Nesyri arrived from Leganes and will work with Luuk de Jong to make an interesting attack. Despite the additions, Lopetegui wants more players and Suso looks like he will play at the club after Sevilla and Milan agreed on a fee. Expect an announcement sometime soon.

Getafe

The club won’t be part of the clubs that will look to sign players at the last minute. Despite this, they haven’t closed the possibility of signing a defender after Leandro Cabrera decided to move to Espanyol. Enric Gallego left and was replaced by Deyverson, and Etebo signed with the club and stands as an option for their midfield. The club also requested for Brahim from Real Madrid but that’s just wishful thinking.

Atlético Madrid

Atletico has one very obvious problem: they can’t score. In an attempt to fix this, the club signed Edinson Cavani. His contract, however, ends in June and given that PSG are tough to negotiate with, talks about this could remain as nothing but talks.

Real Sociedad

Currently, there haven’t been any news or updates but Willian José is rumoured to move to Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. Mourinho’s side, just like most La Liga clubs, needs a striker. They are willing to shelf out €15 million which, unfortunately, isn’t good enough for Real Sociedad. The player’s release clause is €70 million and while Real Sociedad is fine with settling for less, €15 million seems to be scraping the bottom of the barrel. Should he leave, Mariano is being considered as one of the possible replacements. Also, Adnan Januzaj could leave for Roma before the transfer window comes to a close.

Valencia

The question here is whether Rodrigo will leave or not. He appears to have made his mind up about leaving, but Barcelona isn’t willing to meet Valencia’s demands for the player. If things go south (and it looks like it will), the club will settle for Paco Alcacer for between €25 to €30 million as a last-minute replacement.
