Leon Bailey Praises Kai Havertz as an Inspiration to Youngsters
Kai Havertz has been one of the Bundesliga’s brightest prospects during this season. His teammate, Leon Bailey has praised him as an inspiration to others.
Havertz managed to be the first player in the league to score 35 total goals before turning 21 years of age. He has transcended the concept of age in the Bundesliga because his talent has shown through and he has become his club’s main star.
Despite being older at 22 years of age, Bailey sees the young star as a role model for himself and other players who are looking to make an impact on the German top-flight. He has become the perfect example of a young player becoming the star player through sheer determination and hard work.
Bailey said, ‘I'm very happy for him, of course. He's very, very talented - I think we all know that’. Both players have turned out to be a great duo on the offensive end, managing to collaborate on several goals.
Havertz has garnered attention from multiple prominent clubs around Europe and rightfully so. He has showcased that he is capable of being a team’s star but he has limited support in Bayer Leverkusen. There are some great players on Leverkusen but it is nigh impossible to defeat Bayern Munich and/or Borussia Dortmund at the top of the standings.
The young star can have the opportunity to play for other clubs who have the chance to win and they can give him the most money. This can be a win-win situation for him because he can choose where he wants to go to maximize his own talent.
It would be a shame to break up the young duo but Havertz would need to break out of Leverkusen sometime in the future. Bailey is one of the players who truly appreciates his teammate’s abilities.
He said, ‘For him to be able to be doing that gives young players a vision. Anything is possible once you work hard. I think Kai Havertz is a very hardworking player. He's smart and very intelligent on the pitch. I hope he continues to do this and help the team as much as possible because we need him’.
Havertz is one of the brightest prospects in the Bundesliga alongside fellow wonderkids Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland from Dortmund. He has a similar playstyle with both players which is a sign that the game is evolving. These players represent the sport’s future and it is exciting to see what will happen when these players enter their prime.
The next generation of stars are immensely talented and players like Havertz are truly inspirational to the young players. He can impact a lot of people even players who are older than him, similar to his teammate in Bailey.
