Messi vs Benzema - A Hot Rivalry in Town

As if Real Madrid and Barcelona’s rivalry was not enough, another brewing battle is between Lionel Messi and Karim Benzema. They are two of the elite players in the league who are known for their unique ability to score on the fly whenever they are needed the most.

Both Benzema and Messi are great attackers for their teams. They have been somehow consistent this year and have delivered a lot of effort to put their teams in the race for the top spot.

Messi has done a lot of work to help Barcelona claim the top spot prior to the end of La Liga’s season, which had a two-point lead over Real Madrid. They have won four out of their last five matches before La Liga opted to suspend all future fixtures.

Suffice to say, Messi has been quite the difference for the team this year. He was able to lead the team in terms of their aggressive offence and his signature trick shots. He is known for his uncanny ability to drain goals that would be seen by others as an impossible shot to make.

Despite his lapses, the team is there to support him. He had a stretch of goalless matches, but he stepped up and worked on distributing the ball, drawing away defenders to create open shots.

The same can be said for Karim Benzema. He has been the face of Madrid this season as they challenged Barcelona into one of the best rivalries this year. The first was a goalless draw in Camp Nou, but they stepped up in the next El Clasico to come up with a 2-0 win to show the world that Barca is no longer invincible.

Benzema has been the main catalyst for Madrid. He is an exceptional leader who takes pride in making sure that his teammates get the necessary touches they need to create scoring opportunities in the game.

Messi is definitely better than Benzema, but everyone knows that it is not individual performance that brings victory to a club - it is teamwork that makes the dream work. Messi might have the skills, but Benzema definitely has the team.
