Pep Guardiola knew City would react after shock Norwich defeat
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola knew his players would turn in a perfect performance after their shock defeat at Norwich last weekend.
City reacted to the 3-2 loss at Norwich with a 3-0 away win in their opening Champions League match of the season in Ukraine at Shakhtar Donetsk.
Guardiola said: “After what happened in the last three years, I didn't have doubts. The result was good but the performance was even better.
“Of course we can lose. We know before every game we can lose, even tomorrow. We have to have that feeling.
“But when we lose one Premier League game in eight months, why should we have doubts?
“Sometimes the opponent is better or more precise, or sometimes they do something we don't expect or we don't have the best performance.
“But I didn't have doubts after one defeat what the reaction of the team would be because they've shown it many times in many years,” he added.
