Poch talks about Paris SG's big signings over the past few weeks

Mauricio Pochettino and Paris SG are in the midst of one of the best offseasons in recent memory. They signed supreme talents and Poch has reflected on what they mean to the club moving forward in the 2021-22 season.

Over the past six months, Poch and the Paris SG front office have done their homework about their recruitment. It has paid off with their signings so far in the 2021 offseason which is headlined by former Madrid superstar Sergio Ramos and Liverpool standout Georginio Wijnaldum. Their defence is bolstered by the signings of Achraf Hakimi and Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Poch talked about why he’s pleased with what he saw from the front office. He said, ‘A club like Paris SG deserves players of the highest level. And when you talk about players like Wijnaldum, Ramos, Hakimi, or Donnarumma, these are all players who have shown their quality at other clubs, and who have proven that they have the quality to play for Paris SG’.

All of the stars they signed can make a difference for the team. These players have trophies in their past and in the case of Gigio and Achraf, they are just a few weeks or months removed from their trophy wins.

Poch made sure to make inputs about how he wants the team to succeed and it looks like his vision is being followed by the Paris SG board. Now, Poch’s job is to integrate these players into the team and find out how they will play the recruits with the squad’s old guard.

‘To show them the way that we are is the best way to build that mutual confidence so that a new recruit can integrate into the squad in the best way possible’, the head coach said. ‘If they are here, it's also because they have the capacity to come here, to adapt and to integrate into the squad’.

With these signings, Paris SG is the favourite to win Ligue 1 again after losing in the 2020-21 season to Lille. With the new players and a year with Poch under their belt, they can go on to win Ligue 1 and the Champions League.
