Rice pleased in win against Spurs

Declan Rice is glad to see West Ham get a win in front of their fans and beat Tottenham Hotspur. The Hammers were thrilled to score 2-1 against one of their fierce rivals and it is not a surprise that the club is going for a hot run en route to their games in the 2021-22 season.

West Ham had four points against the Spurs in the past run. They first came back from 0-3 down to draw on the road before winning 2-1 at home. The only difference is that fans weren’t there to see them in their glory. The latest win was much of a bigger story as fans were there to rally with them.

A total of 60,000 fans were back inside London Stadium in this win. Rice and the rest of West Ham gave their best to keep the win and make sure the fans would go home with a smile on their faces. It was a stunning game for the team and they grabbed all three points as a treat for their fans.

The winner by Michail Antonio in the 72nd minute ensured that the Hammers would not go empty-handed and Rice saw that play well. He was there to join the pile of Hammers to celebrate the shot that sealed the deal for them.

‘It’s unbelievable, a special day’, Rice said. ‘We know what a tough fixture this is, and we haven’t had the fans in for a while for a Spurs game, so to win today meant the place was rocking. We said before the game that we really wanted to press them, get up to the ball and try to make them kick it long, but I thought they played some really good football to be fair and we had to show a different side to our game’.

The game was a classic, and it showed how resilient they’ve been in the last 18 months. Rice said they changed from being a lowly club all the way to an elite team in just a short span of time.

West Ham can rely on their squad to move forward in their games. This should give them a chance to score wins and get to the top spot of the Prem.
