Son Heung-min Drains Winner For Tottenham

Son Heung-min scored a late match-winning goal in the closing moments of the game to give the Tottenham Hotspur its third straight win in the Premier League. The club also nears a Champions League berth in the win.

Tottenham stole a 3-2 win from Aston Villa to maintain their hold of the fifth spot in the Premier League table. The team is just a point above Sheffield United, and is a point below Chelsea for the fourth spot.

The Spurs are near to finish an impressive comeback after starting November with a place in the bottom half of the table. Mauricio Pochettino was sacked and Jose Mourinho came in to take the lead for the team.

Mourinho engineered the club’s comeback and successfully entrenched the Spurs back into the top 10. The team started off with a pair of losses and a scoreless draw with Watford back in January. Things changed and it was definitely better for the club right now.

The coach was impressed by Aston Villa’s performance in the game, and he thought that his own team did not deserve the win.

Toby Alderweireld came up with an early error as he made an own goal for Aston Villa in the 9th minute of the game. He was so angry with his mistake, and he eventually made up for it in the 27th minute after slotting a goal over Pepe Reina to tie the game at 1-1.

Son followed it up with a goal to close out the first half, and that allowed Tottenham to take a 2-1 lead heading into the second half of the game. Bjorn Engels answered back with his own goal to tie the game once more and keep the game close. He crossed two defenders away and put a goal against Tottenham in the 53rd minute.

Son led the furious rally in the closing moments of the game. He managed to bring one home for the team and celebrated well enough knowing that he already delivered the win.

That marks Tottenham’s third straight win in five matches. A win would simply lift them over Chelsea to enter the Champions League.
