Tyler Adams Comments on Leipzig’s Title Chances

RB Leipzig has been battling hard this season and has challenged Bayern Munich for the title. No other team has been able to challenge the soccer powerhouse in years as Hansi Flick’s club won the title in seven straight years.

Bayern might have boasted an arsenal of balanced talent between old and young players, but Leipzig has been rivalling that one this season. Leipzig has fought Bayern into a stalemate along with Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach for the top spot.

Tyler Adams believes that the team is ready to take over the title and dominate the Bundesliga. Adams is accepting the challenge of dethroning the Bundesliga champions.

‘Obviously it's a big opportunity not just for myself but for the team to not only re-establish ourselves as one of the best teams in the league but show that we are here to win the league this year’, said the 21-year-old.

Adams is one of the young players who were given a chance to showcase their talent straight out of the USMNT. He is determined to follow the footsteps of Christian Pulisic, and he added a step by signing a deal with the team through 2025.

‘I didn't necessarily pick his brains about it but I looked up to him in a sense’, said Adams of the 21-year-old Pulisic, who made a name on European football at a young age. ‘For me watching him on TV and seeing what he was able to do it was more like “Why can't I do that?” He did give you the confidence that you can be an American player fitting and living comfortably into the Bundesliga lifestyle’.

Adams also commented on the pressure of playing with elite players in Leipzig. He knows that much is expected from everyone else in the team, so he has to deliver.

‘You come into a team with players in the team that are world-class’, he said. ‘They all play in their respective national teams and coming from New York not everyone had that level of experience’.

True enough, the comparison of player dedication is a whole lot different in the Bundesliga as opposed to Adams’ experience in the USMNT.

‘There is obviously a little bit of pressure that comes with it but it's something that I'm able to grasp and I'm really excited to be part of such a big club’, he added.

Adams is confident that Leipzig can finish the job this time. He is showing a reason why the Bundesliga now belongs to Leipzig for the foreseeable future.

‘We are ready to re-establish ourselves as one of the best teams’, said Adams. ‘The season is long and you have to take it game by game. There are a lot of tough games coming up as well so we need to focus’.
