Which team has the best chance to win in Group C?
The Euro Championships is set to take place in the coming weeks, and there is a lot of hype for the matches. So far, Group C is one of the talks for the Group Stages as it features a balanced range of teams that will clash with each other heading to the next set of games.
This group includes the Netherlands, Ukraine, Austria and first-time Euro side North Macedonia. While some think this one is not much of a contest, fans can still expect big surprises from this group.
Which team has the best chance to emerge as winners?
The Netherlands is set to host this group. They are the only team in this group to win the contest so far, meaning they have a lot of experience compared to the rest of the teams. The Dutch team has seen too many bad patches in international football in the past few years.
The team is also set to play without captain and back line star Virgil van Dijk due to his injury. They hope to rely on Juve star Mathias De Light to lead the defence while Gini Wijnaldum takes over the midfield. Frank De Boer’s side might actually have a bigger chance to pull off a win in this group with their experience.
Ukraine saw a huge boost in their games in the past few months. The squad finished their big qualifying run without any losses. Andriy Shevchenko’s boys have done well and grown so much in leaps and bounds over the past few years.
The team has learned the vital lesson of playing as one unit, and they have been a force to be reckoned with so far. Captain and keeper Andriy Pyatov also looked good and might be the ace for the team this time since he has played well in their games. Ukraine has a chance to upset the Dutch squad if they play well.
Austria entered the contest with no wins in any major contest for over 30 years. The team’s last win was in a 1990 World Cup Group Stage game against the United States. They have also won one game out of their last five.
The team will surely be hungry to win and move on to the next round. Franco Foda’s men are eager to go one step better than their past two runs. They need to rely on Marko Arnautovic for the goals, and they will need David Alaba to put some spark on the midfield.
North Macedonia still has a lot to learn in the games. They are pleased to play in their first major contest, but Igor Angelovski’s side might be the underdog for the whole group. The team has to come up with a huge pace if they want to win.
Veteran striker and skipper Goran Pandev has waited for his chance to play against bigger sides, but he has to lead the way if he wants the win.
The side will depend on his lead to make sure the team gets to the front with his creativity, vision and keen eye for scoring. Pandev is a reliable scorer with 30 goals in 109 games, but they will need more from him to keep the pace going.
Group C will surely end up as an intense contest between the teams, but only one may reign at the top of the table.
