Why Lingard’s comeback game shows his value
After Jesse Lingard’s blunder in their game against the Young Boys, the star bounced back in their 2-1 win versus West Ham. He waited for his chance and proved that he can still be the best player that Manchester United can rely on when it comes to scoring clutch goals.
United saw a winner from Jesse as he scored the winning goal to help the Red Devils in their strong game against the Hammers. The wing star took a big strike in the 89th minute to seal the win at the London Stadium, a familiar place for the star that was once his home.
He paid respects to the hosts, but the star knew he had to do his job and help his squad secure a big win. This was Jesse’s vow after his big mistake in the loss to the Young Boys in the Champions League. When he was down, the team was there for him in his low times, and he proved he’ll be there to help them as well.
This just shows how much Jesse has grown with the team after spending a few runs with them. He is a player to keep for the club because he has a bright future with United, and his comeback game says it all. He is a player to keep in the long run for the club.
Jesse is keen to get a big moment for the team
With the game tied at 1-1, the game clock was running out. United knew they needed a winner to stun West Ham and Jesse came alive to save the day. He was pleased with the chance to help them win and was ready to step up for them.
‘That’s football. It’s the highs and lows of football, and the lads and the staff and fans have been behind me all week and it’s great to get minutes today and come on’, Jesse said. ‘It was a great reception from the West Ham fans. I had a brilliant time here, but I had to do my bit today’.
West Ham is a tough club to beat at home, and they have been better at home in the 2021-22 season. That did not matter for Jesse as he slid the goal into the bottom of the net for the win. He was ready for the big moment and he did not let the chance slip past him.
Jesse is more than just a backup player for United
The win gives United the most points in the Prem with 13 points to start off the 2021-22 season. The club is ready to take on their next games with Jesse now back to his top form and is as confident as he could ever be.
With the new roster and a lot of stars in the team, they should find a way to win in their next games. Jesse is keen to help them get the best in each of their games.
‘The main aim is to obviously win a trophy this season and I think we’ve got the squad depth to do that’, Jesse said. ‘The talent, everyone’s hungry to play and everyone’s working hard in training to get in that matchday squad’.
United is gunning for a title and if Jesse keeps on stepping up like this, he can see a great finish for the team by the end of the season.
