ShoWTimE Finally Gets a Victory at an ESL Open Cup

Tobias ‘ShoWTimE’ Sieber made it to the last two finals two weeks in a row and he has finally won an Open Cup. It was a competitive tourney this week for all regions.

It was the right time for ShoWTimE this week because his performance in the bracket was on point. He did not drop a single game in the tourney until the finals where he went up against last week’s winner Gabriel ‘HeRoMaRinE’ Segat where they went the distance in the five-game series.

This was his second victory at the ESL Open Cup but his second title was a long time coming. In the last two weeks, he has performed spectacularly but he had issues against HeRoMaRinE. At least in the third match, things turned around for ShoWTimE because he managed to finally defeat his fellow countryman.

In the American region, Clément ‘Clem’ Desplanches managed to transition well to the region and won the entire tournament. He had an early exit in the European bracket when he lost to fellow French player Alexis ‘MarineLorD’ Eusebio in the first round of the tournament.

He managed to redeem himself by winning the American server tourney. There were a lot of questions because he was going to struggle against the time difference but it felt that he was not even having connection issues. He had a similar run to ShoWTimE in Europe because he swept the tourney until the finals where he was battling in a full five-game series.

In the Korean Server, Cho ‘Trap’ Sung Ho dominated the entire tourney. He only lost one game in the entire tournament and he managed to sweep Joo ‘Zest’ Sung Wook in the semis who was considered to be one of the favourites this week.

His opponent in the finals, Max ‘Astrea’ Angel had a great run in the tournament until the finals. He managed to upset his opponents in the most competitive server in the StarCraft scene. He managed to make the finals against all odds, but unfortunately, he lost three games to one.
