Baez enters the top 100 with Campinas crown

Sebastian Baez closed out his strong 2021 run in the ATP Tour. He entered the top 100 as he capped off his run with the Campinas crown. He has been showing off his skills for the whole season and has been efficient when it comes to winning titles.

Baez found the cherry at the top of his 2021 campaign by shining at the Next Gen ATP Finals. At the age of 20, Baez surged into the top 100 and pulled off a historic run in his games. The pride of Argentina sent a strong message by making history to close out the season.

He carried the momentum he had in his final tourney. Baez turned the Campinas Open into his own stage and beat Thiago Monteiro in the final. That was his sixth ATP Challenger Tour title of the year, and he is shining bright for a star that is hungry for a win.

Baez also reached the semis at the Allianz Cloud in Milan and showed his supreme speed with the rest of the world watching. Reaching the top 100 is such a huge feat for him and he is pleased to deliver.

‘It is a very nice feeling to enter the Top 100’, said Baez. ‘I was rising in the rankings during the year and I felt it was getting closer and closer. Ending 2021 like this, it is the icing on the cake’.

After starting out the 2021 ATP Tour at the top 300, he joined Juan Manuel Cerundolo as one of the players to enter the top 100. Baez said that the goal was not to win as many matches as he could but to stay consistent.

‘I was able to do it and played very well. The confidence of playing good matches at the highest level (in Milan) helped make this week feel more comfortable and easier’, Baez said. ‘I started at No. 320 and the fruit of a lot of work over many years and being so attentive to detail helped. Me and my coach can continue to achieve big goals’.

Baez is now one of the top talents in the ATP Tour to watch out for as he gears up for a big push in the next run.
