Jannik Sinner continues to shine in the ATP Tour with another title
Jannik Sinner was only a rising star at the beginning of 2021. Since then, Sinner has continued to shine with multiple titles throughout the year. At just 20 years of age, Sinner still wants to improve on his game so he can rise even higher in the ATP Tour rankings.
It should not be a surprise that Sinner is considered the future superstar of the Tour. In 2021 alone, he made five finals and he is a contender to make the Nitto ATP Finals. In the latest event in Antwerp, Sinner produced a phenomenal performance as he beat Diego Schwartzman in the final to win the trophy.
The 20-year-old cruised to a 6-2 and 6-2 win against the Argentine. Sinner won 87% of his service points as he proved his strength. Even Schwartzman was in awe of his opponents’ game. The Argentine said, ‘I mean, I was playing one of my best weeks in all of this year and today I had no chance. Since the beginning of the match, he was playing and doing everything better than me so congratulations. I know you’re going to have many more titles for sure’.
Sinner is never satisfied with his performance
The best trait that Sinner possesses is his willingness to learn from his mistakes. He is always ready to prove himself by performing at his peak level at all times. After his win at Antwerp, he talked about how he’s not satisfied with his trophy.
He said, ‘We are never satisfied, we always find something that needs to be improved. I see things to correct and he sees others. Now we are working a lot on one thing in particular that I am not going to reveal, but it is something that I try to implement during my matches’.
Sinner wants to keep playing at a high level so he can stay in the Tour’s highest tier. The Italian is ready to prove himself at the highest level because he wants to stay competitive against the best players in the world.
Another part of Sinner’s overall game is his willingness to play on any surface. However, he prefers playing indoors because he can maximize all of his strengths.
The win at Antwerp is a good sign for Sinner
Sinner did not drop a single set at Antwerp as he defeated Lorenzo Musetti and Lloyd Harris en route to the final. With this win, Sinner is now 11th in the rankings and he has a good chance of making the Tour Finals. It will be difficult to secure a bid to the event but the Italian is ready to prove himself again.
This is a massive task for a 20-year-old but Sinner is ready. He has already left a lasting mark on the Tour but an early introduction to the top tier is huge for him.
