Jurgen Klinsmann says that the German capital itself needs a superclub that could keep up with the rest of the teams in the Bundesliga. The former coach still has some love for the country’s capital city as its in-house teams are in the 11th and 12th spots in the league table.

Former Germany, Bayern Munich, and USA coach is still hoping to come up with a big change in the German capital as he believes that the best is yet to come for Hertha Berlin.

The team has picked up eight of the possible 15 points since Klinsmann took over for the team. He replaced Ante Covic after the team struggled and was lurking near the relegation. The team now has a five-point gap from the relegation and is sitting well in the 12th spot.

The team is trailing city rivals Union Berlin by just a point for the 11th spot in the Bundesliga table.

‘I've always said that Berlin deserves a superclub’, he told the assorted press. ‘This is our capital. Berlin and Germany deserve it. ‘It won't happen overnight, but I think that if it's carefully planned and implemented with great determination, it'll certainly be possible to have a European presence within three years’.

Hertha has been making big move since. The team plans to make a big comeback in this part of the season by making a push on the standings. Argentina midfielder Santiago Ascacibar was signed by the team from VfB Stuttgart, as the head coach said that there’s a lot more in store for the team.

'There will be some movement in January’, said the 55-year-old, who also oversaw Eduard Löwen's departure to Augsburg in recent days. ‘We're talking about every area [of the field] and are open to everything’.

Klinsmann believes that Hertha has what it takes to be stronger down the stretch. The coach is positive that the team can come up with better games with him at the helm. He might be the missing piece that the team needs to restore their former glory.

‘The key is to build consistency. You can have a great year and make it into the Champions League’, the head coach added. ‘But to stay in the top four the following season, to play all competitions at the same level, that's an art’.

The head coach wants to see the team qualify for the UEFA Champions League in the coming years in his lead. He wants consistency to be the team’s main focal point in every single game.

Hertha won the league title back in 1930 and ‘31. They were Bundesliga runners-up back in 1975, but the team has seen darker spells, being relegated twice in the last decade.

The team is hoping that Klinsmann will push his squad further and prove themselves once they battle the defending champions when the Bundesliga action returns this weekend.
