Round 12 Recap
Round 12 turned out to be surprisingly high-scoring, which is a bit of a shock given the international break. Those games always manage to throw in a curveball, don’t they? The median for this round was about 4 or 5 correct answers, with a few outliers popping up on either side. We had some players hitting 6 right, a handful nailing 7, and then, of course, there’s vivekdkhyani. The lucky bastard pulled off 8 correct answers. Nice job, mate! But don’t be surprised if the BSFL anti-doping agency gives you a ring soon 😊
Division 1
We had three key matchups this round that I highlighted in the last article, and strongkored came out looking like the big winner after a dominant 5-1 victory over ralle14. Arallmuus snagged a narrow 5-4 win against me, holding onto that top spot, while notblox1 and cryptofrka ended up in a 5-5 draw. These results now place arallmuus and strongkored at the top, with a slight cushion ahead of buwaytress and cryptofrka.
The biggest shock of the round, though? vd309 suffering a 6-2 loss to Harkorede. After an incredible last season and a stellar start to this one, we all kind of assumed vd309 would cruise to the title in both BSFL and LMS. The lower half of the table is looking pretty tight too, with every point being crucial in the relegation fight. Right now, it’s not looking too promising for Kokee44, chi20, and mv1986, but hey, a couple of strong results and everything could change in an instant.
Division 2
Ulven absolutely demolished Koal-84 with a stunning 7-2 scoreline, marking the biggest win of the round. A solid result and a nice boost to the goal difference, which has now pushed Ulven out of the relegation zone, leaving Koal-84 teetering on the edge. Speaking of relegation, it’s looking like we already have three serious contenders: Igebotz and imarios now only have a theoretical shot at climbing up, while russeras is in slightly better shape. He’s still facing a 6-point gap, but at least he managed a win this round, so there’s a glimmer of hope for a comeback.
As for the division leaders, Darxiaomi is sitting pretty at the top with cls63 and el che hot on their heels. All the teams are separated by just a point, so it’s still anyone’s game. The upcoming derby between cls63 and el che should give us some much-needed clarity.
Division 3
Not much has shifted at the top—Patkino is still holding firm with a 4-point lead over yassinmanai, and both of them bagged big wins this week. Patkino triumphed 7-4 over un_rank, while yassinmanai put 6 past Da_Silva. On the other end of the table, Omikifuse has lost touch with the rest of the league, trailing by 9 points, which firmly places him as a prime relegation candidate. Then, we’ve got five teams stuck on 12 points, and they’re likely going to be battling it out in a tense relegation scrap right up until the final whistle of the season.
Division 4
Spack17 and HomieAllDay are still sitting leading the pack, though they’ve swapped places this round. Spack17 had a bit of a free pass, with points against Joca97 already calculated long ago, while HomieAllDay racked up a solid 6-3 win over goodpunt. There’s still plenty to play for, and the fight for the third and final promotion spot is shaping up to be a real battle.
LMS
I’ve already pointed out vd309’s disappointing performance this round, and the chasing pack definitely took advantage, chipping away at his lead at the top. The big question now is whether vd309 will rebuy in the competition or if he’s had enough. Honestly, after winning last season and still leading the pack, I can’t imagine he won’t be back. Which is fantastic news for the total prize pool, which has now grown to 17.5 mBTC. With 8 players left and everything still to play for, it’s shaping up to be an exciting finish!
