Bitcoin Sports Fanatics League Season 7 - Round 1 and Round 2 Re-cap

The BSFL Cup kicked off this week, and as always, it didn’t take long to separate the contenders from the rest. We started with 64 teams, and after a double round of intense matchups, we’re now down to just 16. It was classic survival of the fittest—no second chances, no room for error. With the field now trimmed to a quarter of its original size, let’s take a look at how it all played out.

Round 1

Round 1 of the Cup delivered everything you'd want from knockout football — drama, surprises, big wins, and an overdose of penalties. A whopping ten matches went the distance and had to be decided from the spot, including some real nail-biters.

At the other end of the spectrum, some players decided to skip the drama and go straight for emphatic wins. Dump3er dominated Jinetics1111 with a commanding 3-0 victory, while Hyphen(-) took things to another level, thrashing B1g4udge 4-0 — the biggest win of the round. Dittoup was also ruthless in a 4-1 win over Koal-84, and cryptofrka had little trouble getting past imarios 3-1.

Round 2

Round 2 cut the field down even further, and while we were spared the penalty shootout drama that dominated Round 1, the intensity certainly didn’t drop. Funny how it works—a third of matches in Round 1 went to penalties, and this time, not a single one. Go figure. My own match against mitchr4 ended with a comfortable 4:0 win, the biggest margin of the round. A few others weren’t far behind—paco92x, darxiaomi, welovebit, and execijutiere all secured 3:0 wins. Though, to be fair, a couple of those were helped by late or missed submissions, so the green table played its part.

Round of 16

With only 16 teams remaining, the BSFL Cup is entering its final stretch—and every matchup now feels like a final. Here's the full schedule for the upcoming round:
