Bitcoin Sports Fanatics League Season 7 - Round 12 Re-cap

Round 12 really put everyone to the test. Most players were stuck grinding out 2 or 3 correct answers, which quickly became the “standard score” of the week. But while the majority were battling through a rough set of questions, goodpunt absolutely smashed it with 7 correct answers. That’s an excellent result in any round, but in a low-scoring one like this it stands out even more. To underline how strong it was, not a single other player managed to even hit 6. Well played, mate. Let’s go through the divisions one by one and see how things are shaping up.
Division 1 Recap
Division 1 gave us another tight round, with very few one-sided results. Slissy remains in control at the top, now five points clear of vd309. He only managed 2 correct answers this time, but since ralle14 had an even tougher round, a 2:1 win was enough to secure the points. Not pretty, but effective. Vd309 kept pace with a narrow 3:2 win over jayce in their top-of-the-table meeting. That result keeps him in second place, though Slissy’s cushion still looks fairly comfortable. Elsewhere, margins were slim across the board, with buwaytress the only one to win by more than a single goal difference.
The standings look fairly set at the extremes – Slissy leading at the top, ralle14 struggling at the bottom – while the middle of the table is packed close together. With only 12 points separating the lot, every result will carry extra weight in the weeks ahead.
Division 2 Recap
Rikafip was held to a 3:3 draw against mv1986, while hosemary edged out yassinmanai 4:3 in a close one. That trimmed the gap at the top to just two points, setting up what could be a proper fight for first place over the next few rounds. The promotion race behind them is even tighter. We now have seven clubs packed within six points, all eyeing that last direct promotion spot. With so many teams in the mix, every slip will be costly. At the other end, LFC_Bitcoin and jeremypwr shared a 4:4 draw – entertaining but ultimately frustrating for both, as they remain stuck at the bottom. To make it sting even more, those 4 correct answers would’ve been good enough to win in most other fixtures this week.
Division 3 Recap
Dittoup beat russeras 4:2 and Spack17 squeezed past famososMuertos 4:3, keeping both leaders locked together and now six points clear of the rest. That’s a serious cushion at this stage and puts them firmly in control of the division 3. Behind them, though, things couldn’t be tighter. We’ve got eight teams separated by just three points, all battling for the remaining promotion places. With margins this fine, expect twists and turns all the way to the final round.
Division 4 Recap
On the positive side, we had the flawless showing from goodpunt, already mentioned earlier, who continues to impress. On the other end of the spectrum, the big news is katanic97 officially dropping out after a third missed submission. By the rules, all of his matches are now recorded as 3:0 wins for his opponents, which has retroactively boosted a few teams that had previously dropped points against him. Despite that shuffle, the top of the table remains unchanged: goodpunt and Dump3er are still level on 27 points, while Woodie holds the final promotion spot on 22. With those three looking solid, the real intrigue now might come from who can build momentum just below them to challenge in the closing rounds.
LMS
The LMS pool has thinned out dramatically, with buybacks now so costly that only four names remain in the chase: Slissy, vd309, cryptofrka, and cls63. The prize fund has already climbed to 15.25 mBTC, and with just four rounds left in the season, we’re in uncharted territory — never before has the competition been down to so few players this early. That sets up two possible outcomes: either someone seals the win before the season ends, or we push into record territory with the pot growing even larger. My money is on the later.
