Bitcoin Sports Fanatics League Season 7 - Round 15 Re-cap

Bitcoin Sports Fanatics League Season 7 - Round 15 Re-cap

Round 15 is done and dusted, and with just two rounds left the pressure is really starting to show. Some teams stepped up big time, with plenty hitting 5 or 6 correct answers, proving they can handle the heat. The standout performance, though, belongs to vivekdkhyani, who pulled off a massive 8 correct answers — the best of the round — and crushed his opponent 8:1. Exactly the kind of result you want when making a late push for Division 2 promotion. Let’s go through the divisions one by one and see how the picture is shaping up.

Division 1 Recap

Slissy managed to record another victory which was more than enough to secure Division 1 title. Congratulations mate, this was a dominant performance from the beginning of the season and my side bet against you was doomed from get go.

The real drama now lies at the bottom, where the relegation battle is boiling over. Strongkored kept his survival hopes alive in style, smashing jayce 7:2 in the standout result of the round — exactly the kind of statement win you need when fighting for your life. Ralle14 is already condemned to Division 2, but the other three relegation spots remain wide open. With several struggling teams picking up big wins this week, no fewer than seven sides are still in danger. Notblox1 is in the most desperate position, sitting two points behind the pack with just two rounds left. The title may be done and dusted, but the relegation scrap promises plenty of fireworks.

Division 2 Recap

Division 2 gave us one of the stranger rounds of the season, with both table leaders slipping up at the same time. Rikafip lost a tight 5:4 battle against Hakan2217, while hosemary was outclassed 6:2 by Koal-84. With Igebotz and others just behind them picking up wins, the title race has suddenly opened wide. It’s still technically Rikafip’s to lose, but the margin for error is gone — and the timing couldn’t be better (or worse, depending on who you ask). Next round brings a direct clash between Rikafip and hosemary, a duel that could very well decide the Division 2 champion. A draw won’t do either of them much good, since it would let Igebotz close the gap completely and set up a frantic finish in the last round. At the other end of the table, jeremypwr and LFC_Bitcoin are already confirmed for relegation after dropping more points this week. The remaining two relegation spots are still very much in play, with half the division still under threat of getting dragged down.

Division 3 Recap

I’ve already mentioned vivekdkhyani and his heroics that pushed him into the promotion race, but there were plenty of other key results this round. Spack17 picked up a big 7:4 win over russeras, which allowed him to leapfrog Dittoup after the latter fell 5:3 to SATWAT. Those two now have a small cushion at the top, and it’s looking more and more like the Division 3 title will be settled between them. The real chaos is in the battle for 3rd place — the last guaranteed promotion spot. Five teams are crammed within a single point of each other, with several more lurking just behind. With margins this thin, goal difference could easily end up deciding who makes the jump. Down at the bottom, things are far more straightforward. Dbshck is already gone, and un_rank looks almost certain to follow into Division 4. That leaves just the playoff spot to sort out, with BitcoinHunt3r and russeras set to scrap it out to see who stays safe.

Division 4 Recap

The headline in Division 4 was Dump3er’s narrow 6:5 win over Woodie, a result that carried extra weight after goodpunt slipped to a 6:2 defeat against General_Bitcoin. That combination of results leaves Dump3er clear at the top, now four points ahead of General_Bitcoin — and with a game in hand. At this stage, the title looks firmly in his control unless we witness a late collapse of epic proportions. Woodie holds onto 3rd place, the final promotion spot, but the cushion is only three points and there are several challengers circling. The final rounds will be all about whether he can hold his nerve and defend that position.

LMS

Not much new to report in the LMS. It’s still the same three — Slissy, vd309, and cryptofrka — trading blows round after round. The pattern has become predictable: someone slips, drops out, then immediately buys back in to stay alive. Maybe not the most exciting viewing, but it does keep the prize pot climbing. It now stands at 16.25 mBTC, and with only three players left, it feels like everything will ultimately be decided in the final round. Slissy has the edge for now, but nothing is set in stone.
