Round 16 and Quater finals Recap

This round was all about the BSFL Cup, with both the Round of 16 and quarterfinals on the schedule. We began with 16 contenders, and now only 4 remain. As expected, the matches were tight and the scoring stayed low. Let’s break it down stage by stage.

R16 recap

It was a tough round for almost everyone—except Dittoup. He was the only player to manage 3 correct answers, earning a win over darxiaomi. It was harsh luck for darxiaomi, whose 2 correct answers would have been enough for a draw in every other matchup. Interestingly, penalties were needed in only one game: the clash between Ozymandias_DZ and Harkorede, which ended 1:1 in regular time. The shootout, however, was far less tense, with Harkorede cruising to a 4:1 win.

Quarterfinals Recap

No rest for the wicked—we jumped straight into the next round to decide our semifinalists. This stage turned out to be a fairly one-sided affair, with all winners posting 3 correct answers and securing their victories with relative ease.

Paco92x had the most comfortable match, as his opponent failed to register a single correct answer. cls63 was equally convincing in a 3:1 win, while Harkorede and Dittoup had to work a bit harder—both edging past determined opponents, VashaUdacha777 and Renato297, who finished just one answer short with 2 correct.

Interestingly, all Division 2 and Division 4 teams have now been eliminated, leaving us with two duels between Division 1 and Division 3 sides.

Round 11 and LMS Preview

We’re back to league rounds and LMS action after a short cup interlude. There aren’t any major derbies on the Division 1 schedule, but the matchup between organisers cryptofrka and myself is worth a mention. In Division 2, however, we have the real headline clash—Rikafip vs. VashaUdacha777—a direct battle for the top spot where a draw won’t do either side much good. Divisions 3 and 4 don’t feature any marquee games this week, so it could be a round for the favorites to either solidify their leads… or slip up in matches they were expected to win.

As expected, both vd309 and I opted for buybacks, bringing the LMS field back to 6 players, with Slissy still leading the pack. Thanks to the buybacks, the prize pool has now climbed to 14.25 mBTC.
