Bitcoin Sports Fanatics League Season 7 - Round 17 Re-cap

The final round of the season is in the books, and it turned out to be a memorable one. Overall, it was a low-scoring round, with many teams struggling to get more than two correct answers, but—as always—there were a few standout performances that made the difference. The biggest winner of the week was undoubtedly cryptofrka, who finished with 7 correct picks and, more importantly, managed to swing the LMS competition in his favor. A clutch performance at exactly the right time. Now that the dust has settled, it’s time to take a closer look at how things wrapped up—Division by Division, as usual.

Division 1 Recap

We already knew Slissy had the crown safely locked away, so maybe the champagne corks were popping a bit too early. The newly crowned champ delivered his worst performance of the season, managing just one correct answer—proof that even the best can have a hangover round. Luckily for him, the title was already in the bag, though it came at a heavy price in the LMS race. On the brighter side, slaman29 made the most of his win over the champ, climbing into a well-deserved second place, while Renato297 quietly slipped into third. No flashy headlines, no drama—just steady work in the background that paid off in the end. Down at the other end of the table, things got tense. The trio of ulven, arallmuus, and strongkored were all fighting to avoid the drop, and in a twist worthy of a soap opera—they all lost. All three finished on 20 points, but it was arallmuus who drew the short straw and will be heading down to Division 2, joining notblox1 and ralle14. As for ulven, there’s still hope. He’ll get one final shot at redemption in the playoff against mv1986—a do-or-die match that will decide who stays among the elite.

Division 2 Recap

Hosemary needed just a single point to secure the title but decided not to leave anything to chance, winning his duel 5:3. That victory, combined with another loss from Rikafip, sealed the championship — well deserved. Rikafip, who led the division not too long ago, will likely be relieved the season is over. Despite a poor finish, he had built enough of a cushion to hold onto 2nd place and promotion. The final automatic promotion spot went to darxiaomi, edging out mv1986 on goal difference — a reminder of how much every single goal matters. At the other end of the table, the relegation battle was just as intense. Hakan2217 came out on top after a crucial win over mitchr4, securing his Division 2 status. That result means chi20 will join LFC_Bitcoin and jeremypwr in dropping to Division 3, while mitchr4 still has one more chance at redemption in the playoff match against Da_Silva.

Division 3 Recap

We already had a confirmed champion in Spack17, which probably led to him taking the final round a bit more casually. Ozymandias_DZ took full advantage, winning their duel 5:3 — just enough to grab 3rd place and secure direct promotion to Division 2. Despite losing his match, Dittoup’s earlier work and solid goal difference kept him safely in 2nd. The relegation picture was already settled before this round, with dbshck out of the competition and un_rank relegated. The only remaining question was who would face the playoff, and now we know — russeras will have to defend his Division 3 status against the 3rd-placed team from Division 4.

Division 4 Recap

Division 4 is the only one still in action, with one final round left to wrap things up. Dump3er and goodpunt look set for promotion — the only question now is who walks away with the title. The real drama, though, is in the fight for that last promotion spot. Execijutiere and Woodie are neck and neck on points, and fittingly, Woodie will face goodpunt in what could be the decisive match of the season. All eyes will be on that duel — it might just decide everything on its own.

LMS

As expected, the LMS part of the competition delivered the biggest dose of drama this round. Cryptofrka came out flying, racking up an impressive 7 points and snatching the title away from Slissy at the very last moment. To make matters worse for Slissy, he’d been in control all season — only to stumble at the finish line with a rough 2-point performance that cost him everything. Vd309 at least found some comfort, securing the consolation prize — a $500 free bet that should help offset a few of those buybacks along the way. The whole thing perfectly sums up LMS: it’s not about how you start, it’s about how long you can hang on. Cryptofrka, who spent much of the competition near the bottom, walked away with the main prize — a cool 18.25 mBTC. Well played.
