Bitcoin Sports Fanatics League Season 7 - Round 9 Re-cap
In the last article, I mentioned that players seemed to have found their rhythm—and this round only confirmed it. Most players landed around 4 correct answers, with quite a few going even higher. The standout performer was vd309, who managed to score 7 correct answers this round. To top it off, his opponent only managed one—talk about a boost to goal difference. Let’s break it down division by division, as always.
Division 1 Recap
Vd309 followed up his impressive performance with a huge win that rocketed him into 2nd place—just 2 points behind Slissy, who doesn’t look ready to give up his lead anytime soon. This round, Slissy secured a solid 5:3 win over strongkored to stay on top of the standings. In a round that featured three draws, another result stood out: arallmuus claimed a strong 6:3 win over Jinetics1111. That marks a third straight loss for Jinetics1111, who was leading the division not long ago but now finds himself down in 7th place. It’s a reminder of how quickly things can shift in BSFL. And shift is exactly what ralle14 is hoping for—he’s stuck at the bottom with just 1 point from 9 games and is looking more and more like a relegation candidate.
Division 2 Recap
Rikafip is still holding onto the top spot in Division 2, but his lead has been trimmed to just 2 points after a 5:5 draw with Igebotz this round. Meanwhile, the two teams right behind him—VashaUdacha777 and hosemary—weren’t messing around. Both delivered 7 correct answers, winning their matches and putting real pressure on the leader. With the gap closing, it’s all to play for in this division, and every point will matter as we head into the final rounds. At the other end of the table, jeremypwr seems to be losing a bit of momentum and trailing 4 points to the closest relegation candidate but I am sure experienced team like that can find strength for late push needed to avoid relegation.
Division 3 Recap
Interestingly, several players hit 6 correct answers this round—but not all of them walked away with 3 points. Hhampuz and entebah had to settle for a 6:6 draw, a tough outcome for both given their strong performances. On the other hand, russeras and FamososMuertos made their efforts count with wins. FamososMuertos’ victory was especially significant, as it came against division leader Dittoup. That slip allowed Spack17 to capitalize and pull level at the top—both now sit on 22 points. With a 4-point cushion over 3rd place, that’s a solid advantage in a division as tight as this. For perspective: all the remaining teams are packed within a 10-point range.
Division 4 Recap
In Division 4, we still have joint leaders—goodpunt and Dump3er—both holding at 18 points after surprisingly both lost their matches this round. As a result, their once comfortable 5-point lead has been cut to just 2, and the title race is wide open again. With everything still to play for, nearly every team in the division remains in the hunt for a promotion spot.
LMS
There were no buybacks in the last round, so just seven of us remained heading into Round 9. It looked like we might lose a few more, but in the end, only el che fell below the safety line. Slissy continues to lead the pack, maintaining a 4-point cushion over the rest of us. At this rate, it’s starting to feel like he’s immune to a bad round. Hopefully, this little mention works as a commentator’s curse—we could use some help reeling him in!
