Everything you need to know about Imperial Esports

Imperial Esports, also referred to as Imperial, is one of the fastest-rising organisations in the esports scene. They are widely recognised as one of Brazil’s best Counter-Strike (CS) teams. Although they are still new in the industry, they have dominated the competition across various CS tournaments and events.
One of their first achievements as a team was only a year after their debut. It was during the Campeonato Brasileiro de Counter-Strike Season 1 that they grabbed 1st place.
In 2024, Imperial is starting the year strong as the team continues to partake in various tournaments such as the IEM Qualifiers and the ESL Challenger League. Learn more about the team and why you should keep an eye out for them here:

Imperial Esports history
Imperial Esports was formed in September 2018, when they acquired members from Santos e-Sports. From there, they started participating in various qualifiers and low-tier tournaments. Although they didn’t see much success immediately, they slowly started winning more matches and events.
In 2022, Imperial made headlines with the creation of their CS:GO team known as The Last Dance. Led by renowned player Gabriel ‘FalleN’ Toledo, the team sought to bring together experienced veterans from the Brazilian competitive scene.
Although the initial plan was to reunite the members of successful teams like Luminosity Gaming and SK Gaming, some players had prior commitments and could not participate. The final lineup coached by Luis ‘peacemaker’ Tadeu comprised of:
-
Gabriel ‘FalleN’ Toledo
-
Vinicius ‘VINI’ Figueiredo
-
Henrique ‘HEN1’ Teles
-
Ricardo ‘boltz’ Prass
-
Fernando ‘fer’ Alvarenga
This roster played in the PGL Major Antwerp 2022, one of the most prestigious CS tournaments. During the Challengers Stage, they won 3 out of 5 games which earned them a spot in the Legends Stage. Unfortunately, their run ended when they were edged out by Copenhagen Flames 2-0.
Imperial continued to partake in more tournaments like the IEM Rio Major 2022 and the BLAST Premier Spring American Showdown. As they participated in more major tournaments, they gained more recognition as a team.
Imperial Esports’s current Counter-Strike roster
Like any esports organisation, there were changes made to the roster of Imperial as the years passed. Some of the major roster changes were due to the departure of peacemaker and FalleN.
With these changes, here is the current CS roster of Imperial:
Vinicius ‘VINI’ Figueiredo
Before joining Imperial, VINI was in other teams such as FURIA Academy and TShow. Despite only being 24, he has showcased his skills as a rifler and has been a consistent presence in the team's lineup. VINI's ability to deliver impactful plays and contribute to the team's success has made him an integral part of Imperial Esports.
João ‘felps’ Vasconcellos
Having only recently joined Imperial back in July 2023, felps has been a part of several other teams like Immortals and SK Gaming. One of his biggest achievements as a player was being named the MVP of DreamHack Open Summer 2016.
As an entry fragger for Imperial, felps is often at the forefront of fights, creating openings and gaining map control for his team. His dynamic gameplay gives the team its edge to grab wins.
Henrique ‘HEN1’ Teles
HEN1 is the highest-ranked member of the roster. Besides having been part of renowned CS teams like Immortals and 100Thieves, HEN1 is best known for his MVP title in the ESL Pro League Season 12.
He was also ranked the 16th-best player of 2020. In Imperial, his ability to make crucial kills in high-pressure situations is what makes him a formidable force in the team’s strategies.
Kaiky ‘noway’ Santos
Despite being one of Imperial’s recent additions to the roster, noway has already proven himself worthy of the position. As one of the rising talents in the Brazilian CS scene, he has shown great potential and a strong understanding of the game. He contributes to the team as a rifler with his mechanical skills and game awareness.
Lucas ‘decenty’ Bacelar
Alongside noway, decenty is also one of the most recent additions to Imperial’s roster. He has tons of experience in the CS pro scene having played back in 2020 with Rensga, a Brazilian esports team. His overall statistics for his matches with Imperial have been impressive as he plays a crucial role in the team’s dynamics.
